Please i need your advice. I am 26 years old. Am in a 3 years relationship with a guy of 27 years that loves me so much but the problem is that he is waiting for his National Youth Service and he has a long way to go but he is teaching in a private school while waiting for his National Youth Service. I am working now but i have not seen a guy that is like him. He is pleading with me to give him time and not to leave him. I love him. Should i wait for him? I mean wait for him till it’s time marriage
Thank you for reaching me, the truth is, you are the only one who can decide whether to leave or to stay.
You are the one in the relationship, you have been there for 3 years, by now you should be able to know if he is worth the wait or not.
To be candid, this is life, you can decide to stay and he ends up marrying you, you can decide to stay and he ends up not marrying you, you can decide to leave and you get someone else you can marry, you can decide to leave and you do not get some one else even before he is finally ready and gets married to another lady….
What I am trying to let you know is that, there are various possible outcomes your decision can yield and that should be something you can live with, without guilt, hatred, or putting the blame on any one. So my dear, the decision strongly is in your hands just take your time to think deep about it.
Do you think he is worth waiting for? Has he given you any reason whatsoever to make you doubt him?
As i can read from your message, you said that he loves you so much, and he’s begging you wait, which means he values your relationship and is probably willing to take things to the next level, what is also find very interesting is that you love him too. Why do you want to breakup with him when you have not found someone else (like him)?
I advice you to have a heart to heart sit down with him, and relate your fears and worries to him. Most guys would be a bit uncomfortable with ‘marriage talks’, but a serious minded guy would give it some thoughts.
Wish you all the best my dear.
